Brian Pelkey, a co-founder of New Beginnings Orthotics and Prosthetics, is an American Board Certified Orthotist and Prosthetist with more than 2 decades of experience. Graduating Cum Laude from Rhode Island College, he earned his Graduate Certificates in Orthotics from the University of Connecticut and Prosthetics from The University of Hartford.

With a personal connection to limb loss as an amputee, Brian embarked on his career with an internship at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center, followed by residencies at Rhode Island Hospital, Miriam Hospital and Hasbro Children’s Hospital.  His expertise extends to amputation consultations at area Hospitals, where he collaborates with physicians and physical therapists. Brian has successfully treated thousands of cases of plagiocephaly in Rhode Island. He is the industry leader in cranial remolding orthoses and is dedicated to making a meaningful impact on the lives of infants and their families in Southern New England. With several years of experience and a commitment to staying at the forefront of advancements, Brian is recognized for his expertise and compassionate patient care.  He is the only cranial remolding helmet provider on The Hasbro Craniofacial Plastic Surgery Team. 

A dedicated member of The Academy of Orthotics and Prosthetics, Brian keeps abreast of the latest technologies, employing laser data acquisition systems, microprocessor, and myoelectric prosthetics. Through years of research and education, he has successfully treated diverse cases, demonstrating expertise in conditions like Scoliosis, deformational plagiocephaly, cerebral palsy, and various Orthotic and Prosthetic interventions.


David L. Paolino, CO

David is a Co-founder of New Beginnings Orthotics and Prosthetics, Inc.  He is a distinguished American Board-certified Orthotist with a rich legacy spanning over three decades in Southern New England.  David’s journey in the field began with academic excellence, graduating cum laude from Providence College. Eager to deepen his knowledge, he pursued advanced education at Northwestern University, specializing in orthotics and prosthetics. This academic foundation laid the groundwork for his subsequent impactful career.

David is not only a seasoned practitioner but a thought leader actively shaping the industry. He proudly serves on the Board of Directors of the New England Chapter of the American Academy of Orthotics and Prosthetics. His contributions to the board reflect his dedication to advancing patient care standards, ensuring that the field evolves with the latest advancements and best practices.  With a wealth of experience in outpatient and inpatient care across prominent hospitals over the last 3 decades, David has become a trusted name in the industry. His expertise in custom orthotic bracing sets him apart, catering to the unique needs of each patient. From Scoliosis bracing to designing orthotic devices for all age groups, David’s commitment to quality orthotic solutions is unwavering.

David’s legacy includes playing a pivotal role in the development of the Providence Scoliosis nighttime orthosis. His innovative contributions showcase a deep understanding of diverse orthotic types and complex conditions.  His extensive knowledge makes him a valuable asset in the field, consistently pushing the boundaries of what orthotics and prosthetics can achieve.



Jayne C. Drummey, CPO

Jayne Drummey is an American Board Certified Orthotist and Prosthetist with a rich professional history spanning decades. Holding an undergraduate degree from Dickinson College and a graduate degree in Orthotics & Prosthetics from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, she embarked on her career with a residency at Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.

Her journey continued with a prosthetics residency in Wethersfield, CT, affiliated with Hartford Hospital, where she honed her skills in treating both adults and pediatrics. Jayne’s expertise led her to Worcester, MA, specializing in custom Orthotics and Prosthetics, particularly focusing on lower limb prosthetics. Progressing rapidly, she became the clinic manager of a prominent O&P facility north of Boston in 2014, with affiliations at Mass General Hospital, Brigham and Women’s, and Lahey Hospital in Burlington, MA.  In 2021, Jayne’s outstanding contributions earned her the position of Area Clinic Manager, where she was overseeing multiple large offices in and around the Boston metro area. 

Recognized as an expert in her field, Jayne is frequently consulted by physicians and specialists for amputation cases. Jayne is dedicated to staying at the forefront of O&P technologies, utilizing laser data acquisition systems, microprocessor, and myoelectric technologies. Her commitment to excellence is evident in her successful treatment of a myriad of cases, from basic to the most complex, including amputations of all levels, scoliosis, deformational plagiocephaly, cerebral palsy, and various conditions necessitating orthotic and prosthetic intervention.   


Jennifer L. Pelkey, Director of Operations

Jennifer Pelkey, co-founder of New Beginnings Orthotics and Prosthetics Inc., brings over 30 years of healthcare experience to her role. With a decade-long tenure as the manager of a thriving orthotic and prosthetic practice, Jennifer’s expertise is grounded in a solid foundation. A pioneer graduate of the 2014 Business Management Program at the University of Virginia, in collaboration with The American Orthotics and Prosthetics Association, she complements her education with specialized training from New England Technical School in business management and office procedures.

Jennifer’s pivotal role as the Business Manager necessitates comprehensive knowledge in medical billing, medical coding, and staying abreast of the latest policies and procedures of Medicare and various insurance companies. Her dedication extends to overseeing the office staff and managing day-to-day operations, ensuring the seamless functioning of New Beginnings Orthotics and Prosthetics Inc. under her leadership.


Angela Omari, Office Manager/Spanish Interpreter

Angela Omari has been a healthcare professional for well over a decade. Prior to her employment at New Beginnings Orthotics and Prosthetics, she was the administrator at a busy orthotic and prosthetic facility and Lifespan Clinics.  She has an associate degree in medical office management from Katherine Gibbs College and a Spanish Translation Certificate from UMass Medical School.  She is fluent in English and Spanish and brings her many years of experience with medical billing, medical coding, insurance processes, and customer service skills.

With proficiency in complex tools and materials, Miguel oversees our onsite fabrication lab, ensuring precision in device creation, repair, and maintenance. Fluent in Portuguese, he plays a vital role in daily operations, managing inventory, and supporting providers in fitting and delivering orthotics and prosthetics.
