COVID-19 Policy

As an ancillary health care provider we are deemed an essential service in Rhode Island.

We are open full time. All people entering our facility are required to wear face masks.

We are following CDC and OSHA guidelines for infection control and maintaining a risk-free environment. All of our staff are wearing face masks and protective equipment when necessary. Additionally, we are sanitizing every surface including chair handles, light switches, door handles, bathrooms, parallel bars, and all other surfaces before and after each patient visit.

We are prepared and committed to keeping your scheduled appointments.

If you currently have an appointment with us for a new evaluation for a custom fit orthosis, prosthesis, or require an adjustment on an existing brace where skin integrity and pain are involved, we highly recommend you keep your appointment with us as scheduled.

If you are unable to leave your home and require help from a practitioner, please call New Beginnings Orthotics and Prosthetics, Inc. to see if there are teleconferencing options such as Zoom, Skype, FaceTime, or Duo available.

Possible COVID-19 Symptoms

People with COVID 19 have had a wide range of symptoms reported ranging from mild symptoms to severe illness. Symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure to the virus. People with these symptoms may have COVID 19:

Fever or chills
Cough
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
Fatigue
Muscle or body aches
Headache
New loss of taste or smell
Sore throat
Congestion or runny nose
Nausea or vomiting
Diarrhea

Please inform us of any concerns you may have or if you or anyone in your home are experiencing any of these symptoms prior to your appointment.

100/10 recommend NBOPRI to everyone I come in contact with! They are more than an office, they quickly become like family. Brian lead us through the process for both of our daughters’ helmets. Brian and all the staff made my son’s helmet journey a breeze! They were accommodating and quick to get us in the office whenever we had an issue. The office staff was friendly and helpful. Last March I saw David Paolino At New Beginnings. I have Multiple Sclerosis. (I go to the MS Dream Center, MS support group down the hall) I wanted know if there were any braces (I have Dropped Foot) better than what I was using on the market. I showed David everything I have been using now and over the last 20 years. He told me that what I was using is the best out there for me. I really apricate that he did not try to sell me an expensive brace I really did not need. Another thing we talked about was Knee Hyperextension. I have been dealing with it for 10 years. I showed him a large brace that went from my upper leg to my toe. It was very large and unmanageable when traveling. He had a much better idea. He made me some wedged to wear under my STEP-SMART BRACE. They stopped my knee from Hyper Extending. After 3 or 4 months I didn't need the wedges anymore. Thanks David for giving me something simple that works.
